Bay View Adventure Club Community Day

Covid pandemic got you down?  Sad that the summer is passing you by and many things you used to enjoy aren’t happening?  Well the good folks of Bay View – a very hip and happening neighborhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin under the leadership of Christa Marlowe and Kate Fowdy together with 39 families/ businesses have come up with a fun activity for today, July 25th.  They have assembled a variety of Covid -safe things to see and do on the porches and in the yards of Bay View residents and businesses from 10-2 today and are calling it Bay View Adventure Club Community Day. Participants are asked to make a small donation of any amount to the Bay View Community Center.  The Muse will be a stop on the “adventure trail”.  Our offerings include some blues music by the guy who has entertained at our gallery reception parties for so long that we affectionately call him our ” house musician” – the incomparable and extremely talented Luke M. Cerny.  He will be playing on the front porch from 10-12.  On the side patio we will have a pop up art sale by Roxane Mayeur and Stephanie Bartz.  And Karen Williams will also have her art for sale on our back porch.  Anyone wishing to tour a portion of our gallery inside featuring the work of Karen, Stephanie, Roxane as well as Renee Bebeau, Sara Risley, Megan Moran, and Carol Rode-Curley as well as some small jewelry and crafts by local artisans are welcome with a mask one small group at a time with social distancing.

“Join your neighbors at a distance for a day all about what makes Bay View great! Bay View residents, organizations and businesses are invited to showcase a talent, promotion, or service project to enrich our community. Think a music or dance performance on your porch, art for sale in your neighbor’s garden, chalk art down your block’s sidewalk, a beach clean up, or whatever our creative community comes up to do safely.

Participants can run, walk or bike your own 5K, 10K or any distance route to view the showcased events. This is a family friendly event.

Don’t forget our long history of supporting each other here in Bay View too. Please make a $25 suggested donation to the Bay View Community Center to participate in this event. Here’s our link: https://bayviewcc.networkforgood.com/projects/103416-bay-view-adventure-club

We ask that everyone participating in any way in this event be observant of the current city of Milwaukee regulations and CDC recommendations for the prevention of and protection from COVID-19 at all times, including masks. Thank you for keeping our community safe.”
