Common Areas

The Dining Room – features the dining table that Mary Ellen’s father bought as his first piece of “real” furniture and serves as a living area where guests are invited to sink into comfortable chairs, read a book from the library, play games and enjoy complimentary refreshment any time during a stay. This area can also be used as a workspace or meeting table for business travelers after breakfast is served. Enjoy the art by local Milwaukee artists adorning the space.

The Lounge – features a large space where guests can chat with Mary Ellen and Andrew as they prepare breakfast in the adjoining kitchen. Relax in comfortable chairs and enjoy more art on display from local Milwaukee artists, play games, read books or sip some wine during our complimentary wine and cheese welcome hour. Complimentary snacks and beverages are available all day. Ideas for things to do around Milwaukee and an extensive Bay View neighborhood restaurant guide are located on the display case.

Prepare to be amused and impressed with the gifts available for purchase as a souvenirs.  All items are made by local Milwaukee artists.

Guests may use the large, fully equipped kitchen on the second floor, which features a full-size fridge, range, toaster, coffee pot, microwave, butcher block island, and breakfast nook, pots/pans and a full complement of dishes, utensils and everything else necessary to prepare and serve a meal.

Relax on any of the porches, or on the new patio space in our side yard. A grill is available for guest use. Check out Andrew’s English rose garden in the front yard and see what’s growing in other parts of the garden. In the evening enjoy a fire in the fire pit.
